Troubleshooting
Have you ever purchased an item from a business and got so excited to try it, though you found it didn’t work as well as the business promised? That is because you received a malfunctioning product. Wouldn't it be fun if that business had a troubleshooting page so you can still enjoy that product you paid for and not waste that? Fortunately, we have done enough candle testing before launching my business that we know how to troubleshoot a malfunctioning candle. Now you may wonder why our candles would malfunction. Do not worry, we put in the time and effort, and follow the same recipe to create the perfect candles. However, using natural products can sometimes make it hard to predict the outcome. (Add we accept exchanges?)
TUNNELING:
The first burn of a candle is the most important one. Candles have memories, which means if the melted wax doesn’t reach the container sides, it could have tunneling. When tunneling occurs, the flame will most often then not, will burn downward, leaving extra wax on the side of the containers.
FIX: Simply light the candle and leave it burning until the edges are warm and have melted away. Do so safely. The recommended burning time is between 2-4 hours to prevent mushrooming and risks. Allowing the flame to catch up on the hard wax will prevent it from tunneling, and give the candle a longer burning time, so you can enjoy the whole thing.
NOTE: If you’re unable to troubleshoot your candle, please feel free to contact me. I will be more than happy to assist!
WOODEN WICKS:
Wooden wicks are known for their crackling sound and beautiful appearance. What buyers may not know upon purchasing wooden wick candles, is how tricky they can be. Oftentimes, upon burning it on, it will immediately go out. Or sometimes, not even burn.
While testing wooden wicks, I have found, the shorter the wick, the easier it is to light.
FIX: When receiving the wooden wick, the candle wick should be cut between 1/2-1/4 centimeters in height. Then, turn the candle 45`- 90` degrees when lighting, making sure the wick is aflame. Be careful not to spill wax!
Once the candle has burned and been turned off, pinch the cooled wick to remove the extra carbon/burned wood. Enjoy as your wooden wick crackles, and creates a beautiful aroma!
REFUSAL TO LIT
Candles like to be stubborn sometimes, and refuse to cooperate.
Candle Care Tips:
Trim the wick to 1/4 inch before every burn
Remove any left over in candles to limit any fire hazards
